The Military Edition was designed to honor U.S. Armed Forces personnel with the only first-person shooter game privileges created for and available exclusively to them.

With Medal of Honor Warfighter, gamers can represent their nation’s Special Operations Forces on the multiplayer battlefield. Medal of Honor introduces a new mode where the world’s best-of-the-best warriors go head-to-head in online competition.

Authentic Action

Nearly 13 years ago, the Medal of Honor brand was born with authenticity and respect for the soldier at its core - and that commitment remains to this day. It’s our goal to put you directly in the boots of the soldier whether it be in World War II or today’s war. Every detail from the sound of the weapons to the landscapes of actual locations inspire the complete Medal of Honor experience. For the first time in Medal of Honor, we’re consulting closely with not only Tier 1 Operators from the U.S. but also Tier 1 Operators from around the globe including the Polish GROM, the Australian SASR, the German KSK and more. No other gaming brand brings authenticity to life like Medal of Honor.

Through these partnerships, Medal of Honor Warfighter delivers unrivaled authenticity and gives back to the military community through charitable cooperations. Authentic Game. Authentic Brands.

Medal of Honor Warfighter is developed on the revolutionary Frostbite 2 game engine, delivering the best-in-class experience with gorgeous visual quality, deep environmental sound design, devastating AI and detailed micro destruction.

National Pride Online with Global Tier 1

The new Medal of Honor Warfighter game is inspired by and has been developed with Tier 1 Operators from this elite, international community. This personal story was written by actual Tier 1 Operators while deployed overseas. In it, players will step into the boots of these elite warfighters and apply their unique skill sets to track down a real global threat, in real international locations, sponsored by real enemies. It doesn’t get any more authentic then Medal of Honor Warfighter, coming October 23, 2012.

Medal of Honor Warfighter takes place in multiple real world locations. So far, we’ve only talked about the Philippines and Somalia. But, for the first time in the franchise, the game is not based on one historical event. Instead, it focuses on a global threat called PETN, so you can expect to hear about more in the coming months.

Medal of Honor Warfighter tells the story of U.S. Tier 1 Operator, “Preacher” as he returns home from overseas only to find his family torn apart from years of deployment (including his time spent as a member of AFO Neptune in MoH 2010.) Trying to pick up the pieces to salvage what remains of his marriage, Preacher is reminded of what he’s fighting for - family. But when an extremely deadly explosive (PETN) penetrates civilian borders and his two worlds collide, Preacher and his fellow teammates are sent in to solve the problem. They take the fight to the enemy and do whatever it takes to protect their loved ones from harm.

Medal of Honor Warfighter follows Medal of Honor 2010 and focuses on key characters from that story including Preacher, Mother, Voodoo and others.

For the first time in our franchise history, Medal of Honor Warfighter is not directly based on a single historical event. Instead, the story is inspired by multiple real world events connected by a single terror threat. The Medal of Honor Warfighter story was written by Tier 1 Operators while deployed overseas. We follow a very personal story of “Preacher”, a Tier 1 Operator from the U.S. Navy as he returns home only to find his family torn apart from years of combat deployment.

EA and GovX to Offer a Special Military Edition of Medal of Honor Warfighter

First Major Video Game Release to Offer a Military Edition; Portion of Proceeds from Special Edition Sales to Benefit Military Associations and Foundations

SAN DIEGO – June 13, 2012 –, owned and operated by GovX, Inc., the largest online shopping destination exclusively serving verified military, law enforcement and related government personnel and their families, has partnered with Electronic Arts to offer a special Military Edition of Medal of Honor Warfighter, to be released on Oct. 23, 2012. This will be the first time a major video game release will offer a special, privileged Military Edition that will only be available to verified active, reserve, retired and former military personnel, not the general public. A portion of GovX’s proceeds from Military Edition game sales will be donated to GovX military foundation partners, including the Air Force Association and AFA Veteran Benefits Association, Marine Corps Association & Foundation, and National Association for Uniformed Services, among others. In partnership with Electronic Arts, GovX will also contribute to the Navy SEAL Foundation and Special Operations Warrior Foundation.

“This is a uniquely exceptional video game, precisely the kind of game to lead the industry with a privileged Military Edition,” said Tony Farwell, President and a founder of GovX, Inc. “Not only is Medal of Honor a massively popular game franchise, it’s a more personal, plot-based game with a deep pathos and authenticity that serves to further heighten our respect for those who serve. This exclusive Military Edition of Medal of Honor Warfighter represents a new step for major game franchises, and Electronic Arts again leads the industry by creating a privileged version for our military.”

The new Medal of Honor Warfighter game was written by U.S. Tier 1 Operators while deployed overseas, delivering an aggressive and authentic experience that puts gamers in the boots of the world's most precise and disciplined warriors. Unlike other video games of this genre, the Medal of Honor Warfighter Military Edition incorporates:

  • - An exclusive unlock code for members that will signify they are active or former military.
  • - EA, GovX and select EA product partners have agreed to make a donation to the Navy SEAL Foundation and the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. As part of GovX’s give-back program with its U.S. Military branch association and foundation partners, including the Air Force Association and AFA Veteran Benefits Association, Marine Corps Association & Foundation, and National Association for Uniformed Services, GovX will also donate a portion of its proceeds to these foundations.

Furthering the demand for military edition games, an independent survey measuring video game usage among military and non-military peers, showed that military video game users are more likely to play first person shooter games, the most popular genre of games overall, and play for a longer period of time than their non- military peers. The 2012 survey, conducted by Robert Hale & Associates, found that military personnel play video games approximately 60 percent more than their non-military peers, the majority averaging 16 to 25 hours per month. Furthermore, survey participants who are or were in the military showed a strong preference to purchase a military edition in order to compete exclusively against others in the military, have a designation or badge indicating their military status, and have a donation given to military foundations.

Medal of Honor Warfighter Military Edition is available for pre-sale on June 4, exclusively on “Through, this special Military Edition will be available only to the military, not the general public. We are proud to offer our members a special edition, just for them, that gives them the recognition they deserve,” said Farwell. Players who pre-order the Medal of Honor Warfighter Military Edition will unlock the U.S. Navy SEAL Tier 1 Sniper on day one of launch. This multi-player unlock feature saves an estimated 40 hours of time that would normally be required to unlock the unit.

Medal of Honor Warfighter Military Edition will be available for purchase exclusively on on Oct. 23, 2012 for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and PC.
