What kind of warranty does Bobster® offer?

Bobster® products are warranted to be free of manufacturing defects (as received from our manufacturing facility) for the lifetime of the eyewear. This warranty program applies to all parts of the Bobster® product. In the unlikely event that any Bobster® product is found to be defective as a result of original materials or construction, as the customer's sole and exclusive remedy, the defective Bobster® Eyewear product will be repaired or replaced at the sole discretion of Bobster® with the same or similar item of equal value at no cost to the consumer.

Our Eyewear

Bobster is truly versatile: the glasses and goggles are customizable to suit the wearers’ constantly changing environments.

Bobster Photochromic lenses automatically adjust to the amount of UV light that reaches the lenses: you can wear your glasses from morning to night and your glasses will adapt as light conditions change.

Bobster Convertibles switch easily from glasses to goggles and back, eliminating the need for multiple pairs of eyewear.

Interchangeable Lenses

Bobster Interchangeables feature lenses which are easily changed along with environmental conditions and user requirements.

Removable Foam Inserts

Removable foam inserts are great for restricting wind and dust penetration to eyes when needed.

RX Ready

The majority of our eyewear is prescription ready.

Polycarbonate Lenses

All Bobster Eyewear models features durable, lightweight, polycarbonate lenses which provide startling optical clarity and protection against high-mass and high-velocity impact. Polycarbonate lenses are the preferred lenses for performance eyewear because they are shatter-resistant and will NOT splinter if hit by fast-moving objects, such as debris and small stones. All Bobster® lenses provide 100% UVA & UVB protection. *Bobster Eyewear utilizes polycarbonate lenses in all of our frames unless otherwise noted.

Optically Correct/Decentered Lenses

When looking through a non-optically correct lens your eyes will continually refocus due to distortion, which leads to headaches and dizziness. Bobster looks to provide you with the most optically correct and best clarity lenses possible.

Interchangeable Lenses

Bobster specializes in the design of interchangeable eyewear customized to change along with ambient light and environmental conditions as well as user requirements. Lenses can be switched out quickly with ease by popping the lens from the frame and inserting the new lens of choice.

Rx Ready

Bobster Eyewear provides the opportunity for customized prescription lenses for the majority of eyewear styles available.

Polarized Lenses

While ordinary tinted lenses reduce brightness, only polarized lenses eliminate glare. Bobster® uses polycarbonate polarized lenses to ensure the impact resistance of the lenses while most other companies use polarized lenses that will shatter at high impact.

Photochromic Active Cell Technology

Bobster photochromic lenses are available in a variety of eyewear styles and are precision designed to automatically darken/lighten to the amount of ultraviolet (UV) light that reaches the lens. The advantage of a photochromic lens is you can wear your eyewear all day and not have to carry multiple sets of eyewear with you or change your lenses according to light conditions. Bobster® offers a wide range of eyewear with photochromic lenses with varying transmission rates. The higher the transmission (VLT) rate the lighter the lens color. Clear lenses have a transmission rate between 80%-100% and typical smoked lenses have a transmission rate between 8-18%.

Please note: Most photochromic lenses do NOT get as dark as traditional smoked lenses. Please do not leave photochromic lenses in direct sun or extreme heat for long periods of time as it will decrease the performance of the lenses.

Convertible Frames

Convertible styles offer two options for the price of one! These frames can be configured both as a sunglass with removable temples or goggles with a fully adjustable strap. Many convertible styles also come with foam.

Grilamid TR90 Frames

Grilamid is a nylon compound, which offers increased durability and greater flexibility while being extremely lightweight. These frames are flexible and allow the frame to flex to the head and face to provide a more comfortable fit.

Base Curve

Is the front curve of any lens. The higher the base curve (4-12 base) the more curved the lenses are thus making the frame wrap around closer to the sides of the head. High base curved lenses are between 8 and 12 base.

Many styles of Bobster® eyewear come with foam- open cell, closed cell and/or neoprene. Adding foam reduces wind flow, prevents debris from getting into eyes and reduces vibration.

Closed Cell Foam

Has low water absorption, while being weather and chemical resistant. It also provides some ventilation to reduce fogging and has a tendency to be longer lasting than open cell foam.

Open Cell Foam

Tends to be lighter, softer and more sweat absorbing than closed cell foam. Open cell foam also has a tendency to provide a better seal or fit because it is softer and conforms to the contours of the face.

Neoprene Foam

Is a flexible and durable rubber sponge that provides good thermal and moisture insulation while being very durable.

Ansi Z87.1-2003 Personal Protective Safety Eyewear Standard

Select models of Bobster® Eyewear are ANSI Z87 approved for use as safety glasses and ideal for law-enforcement, military, construction, laboratory, or industrial usage. These glasses were put through rigorous testing for optical quality, impact resistance, ignition rates and more, making them appropriate for use as safety glasses.

Ballistics Testing

Certain Bobster® Eyewear meets the U.S. military’s Vo Ballistic Fragmentation Test according to the new MCEPS (Military Combat Eye Protection Systems) requirements, which will replace old ballistic testing standards MIL-V-43511C and MIL-PRF-31013.
