That’s why we climb. To save just one.”

What I fight for:
We have been at war for 14 years, and we’ve sent our nation’s sons and daughters into combat against an enemy and a fight that had not been seen previously. It’s a new kind of war, and during this time we’ve seen the growth of the improvised explosive device. With this new battlefield development came the increase in KIAs and WIAs and their terrible effects.
In my mind, the things I am advocating for are closely tied together: I want to raise awareness of the prevalence of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and how to deal with it, as well as the staggering level of suicide among our nation’s veterans and how to stop it.
Even if we save one, it’s worth it. It’s worth everything. That’s why we climb. To save just one. The number of soldiers that deal with this every day—including those who have friends and comrades with whom they’ve serve who struggle with the same—is incredibly high. We want to raise awareness about this, and I am grateful to everyone who supports this cause.
Meet the team
